I didn’t like it.
ATHF is a fifteen minute show, and if you go see the movie, you’ll see why it should always remain that way.
It wasn’t a “bad” movie in the “Phenomenon starring John Travolta” sense, but “bad” in a “my favorite comedian had a bad show” sense.
That being said, I really enjoyed the “new” theme song:
There were some really funny parts, and some great fan service…but it all could have been accomplished in a 30-minute special or something.
Yeah, the new theme song is pretty awesome. Some of the parts are awesomely metal…overall pretty cool.
I enjoyed the movie. I might watch it again, but I don’t think I’d buy it or anything. Kind of a “I don’t regret it but…” type of thing.
I also liked the dancing/singing/rocking foods at the start. I think that may have a better effect if you were, y’know, in the theater.
Anyway, I’ve seen far worse, and I think your review is pretty much spot on. Some funny parts, some fan service…but not really a blockbuster of any sorts.
I remember looking for a pirated cam of ATHF when it first came out, but there was none to be found!
Then I saw the metal food band at the start of the movie which promised bodily harm if you were recording it…it seems silly, but is that why there was no release? Or…what?
Just for reference, here’s vcdquality.com’s listings for Aqua Teen: http://www.vcdquality.com/index.php?genre=1&searchstring=aqua+teen&x=0&y=0
No release until June 20th! That’s crazy! Of course, it’s 2 weeks prior to DVD release…
