So, you installed IE7 and now you wish you could have IE6 around to make sure your HTML looked good in both versions. Or maybe you are afraid to jump to IE7 just yet.
Problem solved! Go to this page: Install multiple versions of IE on your PC (click on “Download Multiple IE installer”). Here you can download a software package to install standalone versions of Internet Explorer all the way from version 3.0 up to version 6.0 without screwing up the OS embedded IE7.
I just installed this package today, but I opted only for versions 5.5 and 6.0. Once I did this, I realized I had a problem. I wanted to put icons for both on the quick launch bar of Windows that I have at the top of the screen. But am I supposed to guess which one is which? Or actually take 5 seconds out of my day for the hovering tool-tip to popup? No sir!
I created distinct icons for IE 5.5 and IE 6 that now rest comfortably in my quick launch toolbar. Observe:
I so wish I had read this post a day earlier than I had. It would saved me a lot of time.
In the future, could you post information useful to me at least a day before I need it?
